It has been a tradition for over 30 years for the First Lady to host a small group of citizens who exemplify the themes and ideals laid out in the State of the Union address.

Lee joined ACCIONA Windpower last year after graduating from the wind energy training program at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He has since worked commissioning turbines at the Rim Rock Wind Farm in Montana and will soon be working on new projects.

The Obama administration's priorities include creating educational opportunities that help more jobs in the energy and manufacturing sectors and increasing the amount of renewable energy generated in the U.S. The White House wanted to show what these priorities can mean to real people, so they contacted Kirkwood College looking for someone who had taken advantage of their wind energy training program to find a good job. Kirkwood put them in touch with Lee.

President Obama's speech laid out his goals of developing more renewable energy and fighting climate change, two objectives that fit well with ACCIONA's vision of sustainable development.
